Allie Wist is an artist, writer, photo editor, and educator whose work is anchored in food systems, food culture, and global landscapes. She is a part-time faculty member at both The New School and NYU, where she teaches Food in the Arts and Food and Media. She is currently a photo editor at Bon Appétit and was an art director at Saveur magazine for 4 years prior to that. She also works as a visual artist, and her work on food culture and climate change has been exhibited with Honolulu Biennial, the Wellcome Collection, and CRUSH Curatorial. She has been commissioned to create food and art installations for a variety of art and environmental organizations, including MIT, the Center for Book Arts, and HESSE FLATOW. She received her MA from NYU in food studies and holds an undergraduate degree from Boston University in media.
